Your Spring Home Maintenance Checklist

Spring is in the air and we are all dying to get out and get going. But before you start to soak in that fresh spring air, don't forget these basic spring maintenance checklist items to keep your home safe and efficient throughout the coming months.

Spring Interior Home Maintenance:

  1. Schedule your air-conditioning maintenance

  2. Change your air filter

  3. Clean and seal any natural stone in your bathroom or kitchen

  4. Check caulking around tub, sinks and showers and re caulk as necessary

  5. Clean window sills/ windows and check all screen doors and windows

  6. Clean all shower heads for best water flow

  7. Scrub baseboards and corners that don’t get touched often

  8. Check dyer vent for lint build up

  9. Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

  10. Check and replace expired fire extinguishers

 

Spring Exterior Home Maintenance:

  1. Power-wash the outside of your house and windows

  2. Power wash driveway, check for cracks and seal coat if necessary

  3. Inspect siding and roof and schedule needed repairs

  4. Clean gutters and downspouts, make sure downspouts are facing away from the home

  5. Clean up old leaves and weeds from garden beds

  6. Check all sprinklers and irrigation systems for damage and replace if needed

  7. Trim back dead brush from bushes and trees

  8. Inspect wooden decks and railing for chipped paint or rot

  9. Inspect and tune up lawn equipment

  10. Wash and replace outdoor furniture

Of course, you may have other items that you would want to add to this list, but we think this is a good start.
